Oral history interview with David Noyola, 1997 [videorecording].

The interview begins with a discussion of Mr. Noyola's family history and genealogy. Mr. Noyola emphasizes his involvement with community activities from an early age due to his family's history of involvement in the community. He talks about his work with the Community Partners program (in association with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention of the U.S. Department of Justice) with the City of Corpus Christi where he is a mentor for the Youth Opportunity United division. Mr. Noyola elaborates upon his early experiences in leadership and management as a youth and details his experiences with Little League baseball, as a coach and umpire of the All Stars, and as vice president for the Little League. He describes his leadership activities while in school such as organizer and negotiator for his Senior High School dance program. He also cites lack of unity in the Mexican American population as the key reason little is accomplished in establishing the political vitality of the Mexican American community in Texas and the nation. Mr. Loyola concludes the interview with a discussion about his political campaign management and financing.
