Wall and water gardens manuscripts and photographs, 1903-1913.

The collection consists of galleys, page proofs, and proofs for illustrations for Gertrude Jekyll's book, Wall and water gardens, originally published in 1903. This collection includes material for the second edition of 1913 with the manuscript of a new chapter and extensive annotations and editorial changes to the original text. The draft for an added chapter in Wall and water gardens is handwritten with minimal corrections on each of the forty-five pages. Both the galleys and page proofs have many handwritten corrections on them. Most of the illustrations are unlabeled.
