Personal correspondence, both to and from Henry Wilson, his wife Harriet M. Wilson, their son, Henry Hamilton Wilson, their adopted daughter, Evangeline Vreeland Wilson Carpenter, Mrs. Wilson's sisters and mother, and political colleagues of Henry Wilson. Includes communications from the U.S. Senate and other governmental bodies. Persons represented include L. Anne Howe Coolidge (sister of Harriet M. Wilson), William L. Coolidge (executor of Henry Wilson estate, husband of Harriet Wilson's sister), Caroline C. Howe (sister of Harriet Wilson), Mary T. Howe (mother of Harriet Wilson), Mary Ann Monroe (sister of Harriet Wilson), and Henry Hamilton Wilson (son of Henry and Harriet M. Wilson and officer with 104th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops).
