Irwin Allen Ginsberg was born on June 3, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey to Louis and Naomi (Levy) Ginsberg. American poet, author, lecturer, and teacher who was one of the core members of the Beat Generation of American author's in the 1950's and early 1960's along with Jack Kerouac, William S. Huncke is credited with introducing the term "beat". He met Kerouac, Ginsberg, and Burroughs in the 1940s and introduced them to the "seamier" side of life.
