Erastus Cornelius Benedict writes to Webster, 1851 January 2, praising Webster's "Hülsemann letter" to the Austrian chargé and his vindication of American policy [towards the Hungarian revolution] and promotion of American sympathies. Freeman Hunt writes to Webster, 1851 March 28, also praising him for his reply to the Austrian minister and promising to send Webster a bound set of the Merchants Magazine.
