Civil War material includes casualty lists, orders, reports, letters from Governor Yates and Abraham Lincoln. The remainder of the collection includes letters documenting much of his political career, and include such topics as tariff reform, bi-metallism, the Interstate Commerce Commission, the senatorial election of 1885, and the presidential election of 1896. Much discussion of various Democratic Party members and their political views. Include such names as Adlai Stevenson, Gustave Koerner, John Francis Snyder and James C. Allen. Family letters, mostly to Ellie, his wife, from various cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bound volume scrapbook of news clippings, collected by Ellie, regarding Morrison's career and life.
