Autograph letter signed from William Martin, Leicester Field, to Josiah Boydell, Shakspeare Gallery, Pall Mall [manuscript], 1789 December 13.

Martin mentions his "sentiments to Mr. Nicol concerning some particular assertions addrest to the public in your Catalogue of the pictures from Shakespeare ... " He mentions an "awkward situation I now stand in the eyes of the public ..." Martin goes on to ask for Boydell's opinion regarding two paintings from the plays of Shakespeare that he has in progress.
