Papers consist primarily of letters to her family written during her service in the Peace Corps in the Philippines, 1964-66. Included also are her reports on her work, and a small amount of material related to her training in Hawaii, and her travels in Asia following her Peace Corps duty.

Teacher; Peace Corps volunteer. Jane Sommer (dates unknown) graduated from Radcliffe College, 1964. She served with the Peace Corps in the Philippines, 1964-66, training elementary school teachers.
