YWCA overseas secretary; YWCA official; USO regional director. Ina Ruth Hillis Lackey was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma 18 March 1909. Earned A.B. from Asbury College (Wilmore, KY) 1932; M.A. from Scarritt College (Nashville, TN), 1936; D. Ed., Columbia Teachers College, 1942-43. Lackey first went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1936 as Director, Social Work for People's Central Institute (Methodist Board of Missions).
