Correspondence, papers. An interesting report from the War Department is included about whether or not his wife, Mary, is entitled to his pension as he was a Mexican War veteran and military veteran of 14 years. As a wife of a veteran of 14 years she is entitled but as a wife of a southerner who resigned, she may not be entitled. This is still a question in 1916. The collection includes a will, war papers and two stock certificates from the formation of the Ocala Mercentile Bank.
