Philip S. Boone reminiscences on his tenure as president and chairman of the board of the San Francisco Symphony : typescript, 1981.

Written by Boone to accompany his oral history, The San Francisco Symphony, 1940-1972. Boone recounts his decision to retire as the president of the Symphony to take the newly-created position of chairman of the board of the Symphony Association; the European and Soviet Union tour by the Symphony in 1973; conflicts with successive president David N. Plant; and internal politics and a labor dispute that led to Plant's resignation in 1974 and conductor Seiji Ozawa's decision to leave the Symphony.
