Commonplace book predominantly in the hand of Mary Kingsley, mother of Charles Kingsley; including several of her own compositions; also includes six original autograph manuscript poems by Charles Kingsley, two apparently unpulished; four autograph manuscript poems by George Henry Kingsley, brother of Charles; and an extract from one of Charles Kingsley's letters in the hand of his wife Frances Eliza Kingsley, dated 1856; three of the poems by Charles Kingsley are on two folded leaves, laid in.
