Bound collection of signed autograph letters from George B. Bailey, officer and later Capt. of Company G, 1st Regiment, Ohio Volunteers. Letters primarily addressed to "Jack" (J. Hill Martin, Jr.) and concern the family and military life of Bailey. Letters include brief references to Ulysses S. Grant and his early business career prior to his military service. Compiled by "Sam. W. Pennypacker, Pennypacker's Mills, Aug. 28 1914." Place names identified: Aberdeen and Portsmouth, Ohio; Lancaster, Pa., Pittsburg, Pa.

Andre De Coppet (1892-1953) was an American broker and collector of Americana. He was born in New York in 1892 to Edward J. and Pauline De Coppet.
