Manuscript copies, written in unknown hand, from 18th century printed books and documents pertaining to Great Britain and its colonies in North America and the West Indies. Includes excerpts from "Proposals for carrying on an effectual war in America, from a quarto edition printed at London in the year 1702;" "Memoirs of the Lord High Chancellors, Lord Keepers, and Lord Comissioners of the Gr[eat] Seal of Gr[eat] Brit[ain] ..." (entries dated from 1529 to 1736); and "History of Hertfordshire," by Nathanial Salmon. Together with lists of the rivers and parrishes in the county of Hertfordshire, and a brief description of towns in southern England (10 leaves).

Andre De Coppet (1892-1953) was an American broker and collector of Americana. He was born in New York in 1892 to Edward J. and Pauline De Coppet. A 1915 graduate of Princeton University, he inherited a position in the family stock exchange firm of De Coppet & Doremus after the death of his father in 1916.
