These papers cover the political career and activities of John D. Bower as he served in the Kansas House of Representatives from the 46th District, 1953-1976, and became the ranking Republican. A majority of the papers deal with the Education Committee. The remainder cover government organization, taxes, and the Rules Committee. There is very little material from his early sessions in the 1950s, but there is considerable information from the Education Committee on school unification in the 1960s.
