Letter to Col. W.E. Craig, 1888 November 10.

Cosby, Secretary of the Bath Republican Committee, regrets that he cannot attend a Republican Grand Rally in Staunton, and rejoices in the election victory of Benjamin Harrison as president and the "day dawn of Protection and of Education." He notes that Bath lost by only 75 votes and states that if the count had been fair Virginia would have voted Republican. The letter is decorated with a child's watercolor of a crowing rooster, a U.S. flag and a smoking cannon.
