Index rerum, or index of subjects intended as a manual to aid the student and the professional man in preparing himself for usefulness, 1846.

The manual was designed for the user to index his reading by subject. Contains entries made by John Staige Davis who also used it as a commonplace book. Among the entries are notes on the Worthington Pump at the Rotunda and a chart comparing gas works at Fredericksburg, Winchester, Alexandria, Lynchburg, and Petersburg.
