Subject Pamphlets 1919-1962.

This series consists of pamphlets, leaflets, and other educational and promotional materials published by the Women's Missionary Society/United Lutheran Church Women (WMS/ULCW). The material is from 1919 to 1962. Subject matter includes specific WMS/ULCW programs such as the annuity program; specific departments and their responsibilities; and work undertaken in various regions of the world, such as India, Liberia, Japan, China, and British Guiana. Also included are hymns and song sheets, church holiday material, and a large quantity of material pertaining to thankoffering including thankoffering stories, prayers, poems, monologues, plays, pageants, and services. Some pamphlets have a year and number typed or written. This is similar to material in the ULCA 29/8/2. It is not known if this information is accurate or to what the assigned number pertains. There are pamphlets written in German and appear to be the same subject matter as the other pamphlets in this series. The pamphlets in envelopes labeled "Mrs. E.C. Cronk" are generally pamphlets authored by her. There are a small number of pamphlets published by other denomination's women's missionary societies. The last box in the series contains pamphlets too large for the smaller-sized boxes and it has an undated list of WMS literature titles and historical information on Thank-Offering and a Week of Prayer. There may be some duplicate material contained in different envelopes due to the material being filed under different subject headings. The material is this series is arranged alphabetically by subject. Duplicates within envelopes were removed.
