[Account books of Josiah Quincy Jr., 1831-1840, 1850-1851].

First volume has "acct of labor &c. upon the city lands", 1831-1839. Most of the entries simply have the date, a list of individuals and how much they were owed. A few of the later entries indicate the work they had done such as sawing timber, recording deeds, etc. There are also entries for "Virginia Rail Roads", "Massachusetts Rail Roads", "New York Rail Roads" and "Estimated cost of filling South Cove as pr plan of Jany 25 1837". Many of the entries for 1837 concern wharfs leased to various merchants. Second volume has the rent roll of Josiah Quincy Jr. for 1851. Entries list the house, store, or shop number along with the street where it is located, the tenant's name, price and the date when the lease expires. The third volume has "Quincy's tenants in the Albany Block July 1 1850 by Francis Jackson."
