Joseph Whipple diaries, 1731-1736.

Diaries of Joseph Whipple, minister in Hampton Falls, N.H., kept in Nathaniel Ames almanacs for the years 1731-1734 and 1736. Entries include descriptions of the weather; news from local parishes including the ordination of clergy; and farm tasks including planting and tending oats, and making cider. Occasional entries note Whipple's purchase of slaves, including two young men named Pompey and Fortune.
