Letter to Samuel W. Martin, 1850 December 28.

Southall writes concerning the sale or division of slaves from the estate of [Shepherd] Eades. The heirs prefer that the slaves be divided by lot among Eades' daughters Mary Ann Starke, Charlotte Turner and Sarah Venable. If the court orders a sale, Southall requests that Martin buy a woman named Maria and her child for Charlotte Turner.
