Included is a 28 Dec. 1983 letter to John R. Hall, chairman and CEO of Ashland Oil, inviting him to be one of fifty chief executive officers invited to attend the third annual American Enterprise Institute World Forum in June 1984. Ford explains the purpose and format of the meetings and names world leaders who attended the previous meeting and those he hopes to see participate in 1984. Also a 30 November 1984 letter to Hall inviting him to attend the fourth annual World Forum in June, 1985.

Gerald Rudolph Ford, the 38th President of the United States, was born Leslie Lynch King, Jr., the son of Leslie Lynch King and Dorothy Ayer Gardner King, on July 14, 1913, in Omaha, Nebraska.
