Ross Edward Shumaker was a professor, architect, and founder of the program in Architecture at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering, 1920-1955. Ross Edward Shumaker was hired as an associate professor of Architecture in the Department of Engineering in 1920. By 1921 Architectural Engineering became a separate curriculum under Shumaker's direction.
