Account book, 1755-1786.

An account book containing accounts kept by John Clark recording his transactions with his sons, neighbors, and friends. He registered the hiring, buying, and loaning out of slaves, purchases of livestock, buying and selling grain, sales of tobacco, building materials, land warrants, brandy, and clothing. An index to the book names many people in the Virginia and Caroline County area and includes Captain William Marshall, George Todd, Owen Gwathmey, and George Rogers.
