Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: military governments. General description of the collection: The James C. Robertson photograph collection consists of many outdoor shots of Robertson, men on his staff and others assigned to a military government detachment in Germany in 1945. Other photos are of the German countryside and of the German people recovering from a devastating war. There is also a grouping of pictures dealing with a courts martial proceeding of certain German officers. Many of these photos have descriptive captions on the back of the photo. The second part of this collection consists of a number of captured German Army photos, all with caption dates of 1940, showing the German Army in the field and soldier activities. Photos also show numerous shots of various types of German equipment, vehicles, tanks, etc. The second box contains 11" x 14" photogravure photos on thin paper stock showing the various aspects of Germany army life and equipment. They may have been published as propaganda pieces to extoll the virtues of life in the German Army and its greatness.
