Account books, 1848-1875.

Consisting of records documenting Woodrow's management of subscriptions for the Southern Presbyterian [newspaper] and the periodical Southern Presbyterian Review [quarterly] for clients located throughout southeast. Acount books for the Southern Presbyterian [newspaper] include cash books, 1858-1870 and 1875; ledger, 1854-1865; and mail book, 1869 May; and accounts, 1853-1864, re subscriptions and expenses for the newspaper and other activites, including domestic missions, the "minister's fund," the "soldier's fund," domestic missions, etc., with note (page 109) noting that all following pages "to be used for teh new company of A.A. Porter founded August 1862... [signed] Josiah E. Smith, Clerk." Volumes for subscriptions to Southern Presbyterian Review [quarterly] include index book, 1860-1865; ledger, 1860-1865; and subscription and mailing books, 1848-1861. Other account books produced by Woodrow are not identified with one publication or the other; volumes include book exchange, Jun. 1869; cash books, 1860-1865 and 1870; undated index book.; invoice book, 1867 Oct.-1870 Apr.; and ledger, 1858 Jul.-1859 Sept., and cash book, 1864 Oct. 1-1865 Apr. 3.
