O'Daniel photograph collection covers the highlights of General O'Daniel's career as a general officer from WWII to his visit to Vietnam between 1955 and 1958. There are no photos from his career before his command of the 3rd Infantry Division in February of 1944. The collection is made up principally of albums. One huge album covers the 3rd Infantry Division from 1942 to 1945 and is referred to as box 6. Box 4 is an album of beachhead monuments for the Division from the war, and a large album of headquarters scenes, personnel and events from the I Corps in Korea in 1951 and 1952 when General O'Daniel commanded it. Nearly all the remainder of the collection is a series of 11 albums showing his visits to Vietnam from 1955 to 1958. A pack of loose photos shows scenes from the French evacuation of North Vietnam in 1955.
