Lathrop photograph collection consists of his photo album which contains images and post cards covering his service with the artillery in France and his return home. All of the daily activities of a field artillery battery in France are pictured in this album. Soldier life, the trenches, road marches, devastation of a battlefield and of towns and villages (some being aerial views), individual officers and soldiers and groups of soldiers, photos of French villages and villagers, a crashed airplane, Renault tanks, Black soldiers guarding German prisoners, French soldiers and officers are all some of the subject matter of this fascinating album.
