Philip Benner estate financial records, 1835-1867 (bulk 1835-1840).

The collection contains the financial records generated in settling Philip Benner's estate. It includes a deed, 29 August 1835, for two tracts and parcels of land in Spring Township (recorded in Mortgage Book B, p. 421); a request for the Court of Common Pleas to decide on the validity of a bond and mortgage and any money due to Esther Barton for two tracts of land on Buffalo Run; an 1836 agreement between the administrator of the estate and Edward McGraw for 343 acres in Greenfield Township, Bedford County, Pa. Also, a letter from W. Thompson to Matlock Benner, 14 June 1836, inquiring if land is for sale; letter from H. Humes, Jersey Shore, Pa., to P. Benner, 13 Sept. 1867, sending greetings to several women; and claims against the estate, 1836-1840 (Christian Miller, Thomas McKee, James Rothrock, John Adams, James Peeples, and Jeremiah Merritt).
