Calvin W. Jolley papers, 1943-1945.

The collection consists of approximately 250 letters, photographs (some are labeled "Istanbul"), and printed material. The WWII letters were written by Calvin Jolley to his wife, Yuma Gore Jolley, in Albertville, Alabama. Because of censorship he could not write her any details of combat, but his 2 September 1944 letter mentioned that he had been in four major battles. The printed material includes autographs of his fellow passengers on the "Queen Mary" and information about the 35th Division.
