This collection contains the chancellor's central files and includes correspondence, reports, and additional material exchanged between the Chancellor's Office and the colleges, offices, and major programs of the Chicago Undergraduate Division/University of Illinois at Chicago Circle/ University of Illinois at Chicago. It also features documents from student organizations, as well as governmental, educational, and private organizations from outside of the University. The documents cover years when the chief administrative office of the campus was entitled Office of the Dean, Office of the Executive Dean, Office of the Vice President and the Chancellor's Office. The collection contains numerous documents related to the major events in the history of the University of Illinois at Chicago; including the construction of the Circle Campus, the tumultuous late 1960s and early 1970s, and the merger between UICC and the Medical Campus. The collection is divided into seven series and some of the series are further divided into subseries.
