Daniel Agnew papers, 1861 and 1883.

The collection contains a letter from George Sumner, Boston, 4 June 1861, with news of the Civil War in response to the unnamed recipient's request for news from America; an envelope addressed to Daniel Agnew postmarked Canton, Ohio; and a 74-page manuscript draft of Agnew's speech about the partial prohibition of liquor, later published as Address of the Hon. Daniel Agnew, LL. D., before the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania, January 31st, 1883.
