The Friends Temperance Union of New York was a Quaker organization founded in 1876 which promoted abstinence from all alcohol. Prominent members, primarily from New York City, included Joseph A. Bogardus, Rachel W. Underhill, Thomas E. Skinner, George T. Capron, Jacob Capron, Jonah L. Rees, William M. Jackson, Anna Rice Powell, and Aaron M. Powell.
