Robert Hofsinde was born in 1902 in Odense, Denmark, emigrated to the United States in 1922, and died in 1973. He has written and self-illustrated 16 children's books about American Indians, which were inspired by his life experiences. "Hofsinde was born next door to Hans Christian Andersen's house.
