Papers of William D. Eppes, 1984-1985.

The papers of Eppes, consist chiefly of copies of letters, clippings and articles pertaining to William Faulkner, and Thomas Jefferson and his descendants. The papers contain a covering letter to Anne Freudenberg; clippings pertaining to a speech by Joseph Blotner on Faulkner, and a review of the new, corrected edition of "The sound and the fury"; a copy of an excerpt from a speech "The problem that baffled Jefferson" by Judith Martin; a copy of an article "Uncovering early Colonial City Point, Va.," by David G. Orr, Douglass Campana and Brooke S. Blades; and an article "Wine of choice, Thomas Jefferson -- the forgotten father of food and wine" by Peter J. Morrell together with a copy of a note from the author. Also copies of correspondence with Robert K. Poch regarding the latter's article "Jefferson's Virginia legacy"; copies of obituaries for Margaret and Olivia Taylor and a letter concerning their funeral; a copy of the inscription of the tombstone of John Wayles Eppes; anc copies of an article and map on Bradford Cemetery - Pine Hill plantation in Leon County, Florida where Eppes descendants are buried.
