Boston Committee of Donations letterbooks, 1774-1775.

Two letterbooks kept by the Boston (Mass.) Committee of Donations established to receive and distribute funds for the relief of the sufferers of the Boston Port Bill, 28 Jan. 1774- 26 Sept. 1775. One letterbook contains contemporary copies of incoming letters from individuals, towns in Massachusetts, and other colonies donating food and money; and the other letterbook contains contemporary copies of responses signed by John Avery, Sam Adams, and others. Also includes photocopies of the incoming letterbook.
