Helen thanks Markham for remembering her in his book. She is senting the Markham's an invitation to a party. Sher is also having her first meeting of the Edwin Markham Club. She is just so excited that he remembered her in his book.

California poet. Raised near Vacaville, became a schoolteacher in Coloma and later in Oakland. Became famous overnight with publication of "The Man with a Hoe," his protest against brutalization of labor, in "San Francisco Examiner" (January 15, 1899). Following this success Markham moved to New York where he scored another triumph with "Lincoln and Other Poems" (1901).
