[Letters from the Sowers family] Berryville, Va. to John Albert Broadus. 1847-1848.

Broadus taught Daniel Sower's children, Emeline, George, Lucy, and Anne E., from Jan. 1845 until June 1846 when he entered the University of Virginia. Emeline sends him news from Woodley, their home, and expresses her desire to see him. A great deal of their correspondence has to do with the health of mutual acquaintances and their progress with their studies. Their father adds postscripts and writes a letter from time to time, as well.
