Contains photographs of the following military units: Squadron A, 101st Cavalry, New York National Guard. General description of the collection: The V. Dennis Wrynn photograph collection was the property of the donor: father who was an enlisted member of Squadron A, an elite, rich man's company, much like the 1st Troop, Philadelphia City Cavalry. This excellent collection shows Squadron A at National Guard competition games at Atlanta, Georgia, in 1895, in training camp in 1897, escorting Governor Theodore Roosevelt in a parade in 1899, participating in the Blue and Gray Maneuvers at Manassas, Virginia, in 1904, escorting President Theodore Roosevelt in 1904, on the Mexican Border in 1916, and as a part of the 105th Machine Gun Battalion, 27th Division in WWI. The Blue and Gray Maneuvers are the most prolific of the collection and show various training evolutions, road marches and the men in camp settings. There are several good photos of members of the squadron in their special full dress, Hussar type uniform.
