General description of the collection: The John H. Dudley photograph collection reflects the career of Brigadier General Dudley from his West Point days, graduating in 1930, to his retirement in 1960. There are numerous photos of engineering subjects and airfield construction from 1940 to 1943. There is also an excellent photo history of the 931st Engineer Aviation Regiment/Group in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1946 in Box 1. Box 2 includes the few pre- and post-World War II photos along with family and friends and the above mentioned construction views. Box 3 is full of travel photos from Germany, Norway, Denmark, Philippines, Japan, England, France and United States (U.S.) locations; as well as more airfield construction in 1942. Box 4 contains photos of Rome Airbase, New York under construction in 1941 and an album of hand colored scenes in Japan from before World War II.
