Maryland Poets collection, 1888-1947.

Collection consists largely of clippings from newspapers and journals about two Maryland poets, Lizette Woodworth Reese and John Banister Tabb. The items were assembled by friends and admirers of the two poets. The bulk of the material (1915-1947) relates to Miss Reese and includes manuscript material, reminiscences from her many friends in Baltimore, accounts of memorials dedicated to the poet, published poetry, and obituaries. Some items are collected in a scrapbook. The John Banister Tabb material (1888-1945) consists of six clippings from newspapers. An essay written by Tabb recounts his Civil War experience. The remaining articles discuss his teaching at St. Charles College and his poetry.
