Johann Caspar Bluntschli papers 1750-1884.

The student notes represent his methodic training in law and legal history under B. Niebuhr, F. Savigny and others. Bluntschli's own later lectures, legal briefs and research notes are an excellent source for studying the development of his interpretation of Swiss and German legal questions. The handwritten draft of Staats-und Rechtsgeschichte invites comparison with the published work. The compilation of Swiss laws provide information that would otherwise be available only in a foreign repository.
