Negative taken for May 17, 1961, Arkansas Gazette article "In Summer, a Boy's Thoughts Turn to Camping," B1:3. The camp is located 20 miles west of Hot Springs, Garland County, Arkansas, in the woods one half mile or so south of U.S. Highway 270. The camp sits on a 140 acre plat of the Ouachita National Forest and is operated by the YMCA of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. The camp and dam were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. The dam on Clearfork Creek formed a small lake, which provides swimming, boating and fishing for the current campers.
