Chemical Corps photograph collection. 1939-1973.

Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following wars: World War II (WWII), Korean War. Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: United States Army Chemical Corps and various units. General description of the collection: The Chemical Corps photograph collection includes a cross section of the activities and equipment of the U.S. Army Chemical Corps from training to numerous Chemical School graduation classes. A goodly number deal with chemical training and equipment during World War II. Very few, however, show chemical units in active combat situations. Such topics as fire bombs, camouflage, flamethrowers, gas masks, and chemical generators of various types, as well as protective clothing are all illustrated within these boxes. One nice group is a collection of concrete pillboxes in Italy during World War II that were photographed by the Mediterranean Allied Photographic Reconnaissance Command from the air; then ground shots of the same pillboxes and schematic drawings of them were made. There are many sets of photographs used by the Chemical School as training aids and there are many shots of ceremonies at the school over the years.

10 boxes (3568 photographs)
