[Letter] 1857 Dec. 15, Flu[vanna] to [John Albert Broadus] / Wm. A. Whitescarver. 1857.

Hearing that Broadus will be speaking at the dedication of the chapel of the Fluvanna Female Institute, on Wed. 23, Whitescarver invited him to preach at his church as well. Asked about the results of the meetings in Charlottesville and Richmond, and reported they had held several days of meetings as well, "yet we had no good reason to believe that any soul was converted. Sinners are getting about as hard here as they are in cities. We have but few who will listen attentively to the gospel."
