Contains photographs of the following military unit: 745th Railway Operating Battalion. General description of the collection: The Robert Walker photograph collection includes a photo album and numerous loose photos all recording the activities of the 745th Railway Operating Battalion during the WWII service in India when operating the Bengal and Asian railway. Some of the photos show the personnel of the battalion, its locomotives and rolling stock while others show sights in India from snake charmers to Buddhist temples and several cities; also numerous photos of USO shows and baseball games. It is a good collection showing activities of an unusual unit in the China-Burma-India theater.

Robert Walker, worked for many years as the University of Arizona Photo Services Center Manager . During his time at the University he worked on a number of assignments for various departments and collages. His images have been used in numerous campus related publications.
