[Letter] 1854 July 17, Newberg, S.C. to [John Albert Broadus] / Joseph Walker. 1854.

Writes that "your letter declining appointment for California has been received. Rather sorry that you can't go, but the Lord knows best." Walker explained that he was on his way to Charlottesville. "Be sure to tell them that besides a mere visit, I am coming for money, not for myself, but for the Lord. I hope each brother and every sister will meet me with an offering for Domestic Missions."
