[Letter] 1854 June 13, Marion, Alabama to John A. Broadus, Charlottesville, Va. / Jos. Walker. 1854.

Informed Broadus that the Domestic Mission Board could not defray the expenses of his prospective move from Virginia to take the pastorate of the Sacramento City Baptist Church. They did however appropriate $500 per annum to "help sustain you as their missionary in connection with that church." Walker said he would "inform Mr. [Edward J.] Willis of the action of the board." He added "I hope, my brother, it may suit you to accept that call."
