Joseph Bowman papers, 1824-1857.

Correspondence of Hon. Joseph Bowman of New Braintree, Mass., 1828-57. Includes letters received from clients regarding legal cases, from his wife describing domestic duties, brother Isaiah in Wilkes Barre, Pa. regarding family legal matters; and correspondence with his sons Charles Delano and Joseph Harding Bowman. Letters from Charles describe studies at Amherst College, debts incurred in Worcester, Mass., and legal work for his father. Also includes receipts and account balances for Joseph Bowman's legal work, 1824-35.
