Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus Files 1961-1976.

Box 1 contains records of the full church. These include the agreement of transfer between the ALC and the EECMY, correspondence of President Emmanuel Abraham, Executive Secretary Gudina Tumsa, and Associate General Secretary Robert Miller. Miller related directly to personnel in the North Ethiopia Synod. The box also includes reports, statistics, and minutes of the Executive Committee. Boxes 2 and 3 contain records related to the North Ethiopia. There are minutes of its annual conventions, Executive Committee, and Board of Institutions, constitution, agreement of transfer, financial records, and correspondence. The correspondence is between the administration of the Division of World Missions (DWM) of TALC and synod officers. Administrative correspondents are Executive Directors Theodore P. Fricke and Morris A. Sorenson, Jr., and Secretaries for Africa and Madagascar Lowell Hesterman and James L. Knutson. NES correspondents are Presidents Gebre-Ab Biadgilign and Berhe Beyene, Executive Secretary Berhe Beyene, and Treasurers Robert Avers and Dennis Everson. Financial records include budgets, audits, and financial statements.

The American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) was formed by the merger of the American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church.
